Do you need to reduce your salt intake? This herbal salt-substitute recipe is wonderful, and will meet all the salt cravings you may have. Ingredients:

1 tsp dried basil leaves

1/2 tsp white peppercorns

2 T dried onion flakes

1 T garlic powder

1/2 tsp paprika

1 T dry mustard seeds

1 tsp dried thyme leaves

1/4 tsp celery seed

1/4 tsp dried rosemary leaves

Blend the above ingredients together in a small coffee-grinder used exclusively for herbs until fine and of the consistency that you want. Pour into an empty shaker bottle along with a few grains of raw rice to prevent clumping. Yield approximately 1/3 cup of your salt-substitute mix.
